After watching their mother go through the diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, the Greenwell family wanted to help raise awareness and contribute to cancer research in a meaningful way.
In 2010, they painted one of their propane bobtail trucks pink and donated a penny per gallon delivered by the Pink Truck to Susan G. Komen Kentucky, a non-profit that invests in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. The community response to the Pink Truck was so positive, a second Pink Truck was added in 2015 and the contribution to breast cancer research was doubled. A third Pink Truck will be added in 2021 and the original contribution will be tripled!
Over the years, Greenwell's Pink Trucks have raised awareness of breast cancer and brought a smile to those who see them drive by.
If you would like to contribute to the fight against breast cancer, consider donating on the Susan G. Komen web site.
